welcome Hello and welcome to the Ramblers' Association Portsmouth Group website.

We would like to invite you to walk regularly with us in a beautiful part of Hampshire characterized by chalk downland, historic towns and idyllic villages. Although our walks vary in difficulty and length, they are suitable for all abilities.

Track walkOur weekly Sunday walks range from 8 to 12 miles, whilst our Saturday walks are mainly 5 to 8 miles. From May to August we organize walks every Wednesday evening up to 5 miles in length.

We meet at Cosham Railway Station so that we can car share to the start of the walk and give members without cars a lift. This enables us to take as few cars as possible and help protect the environment. However, a lift can NOT be guarenteed as this is dependant on the number of walkers with transport available and prepared to drive. If you do accept a lift from a fellow walker you should establish whether an immediate return after the walk is planned as the driver may wish to stop for refreshments

Muddy farm We extend a warm welcome to all new walkers, visitors and guests. Why not try us for a few weeks without any commitment. If you like what you see, then you are more than welcome to join us. The Ramblers' Association annual membership fee amounts to less than 50p per week. As well as helping to protect the natural beauty of the British countryside, you will also be part of a nationwide walking club.

The Ramblers’ Association exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring; and to promote respect for the life of the countryside. The association encourages walking; protects rights of way; defends the beauty of the countryside; and has campaigned for many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country. The association is a democratic, voluntary organisation, registered as a charity (no.1093577).

If you would like to know more about our group please e-mail David Nichols or phone him on 023 92529490.
